We're in Cape Cod for vacation this week and it's been nice. Phyllis came up from New York and we all got to visit. It was great to see her again. She missed her bus at Barnstable because it didn't stop there - it only stopped in Hyannis. It made what should have been a six hour trip, a thirteen hour trip. We wished we would have known.

The other thing I've been meaning to do is to add in google analytics for the website. I still have to add in displaying categories and allowing comments and photos and videos and facebook and making the site more iPhone friendly and...

I took a break from iPhone development this week to finally get around to porting our old blog entries over to the new MVC architecture. The reason why it was a little tricky is because I had to work out how to get the old entries' primary keys to relate to the new entries primary keys. What I ended up doing was sticking the old ones into a column in the new table and then do insert into's to get the comments and categories to link up (I still have to display those relationships on the website).

It's that time of year again. My eyes are so itchy that I have trouble not rubbing them. Makes working very difficult. Emily and I were sitting in the living room yesterday and I looked outside at what I thought was smoke in our backyard. It was actually pollen blowing off the trees so thick, it looked like waves of smoke. I hate going outside this time of year. I hope it ends soon.

Today was our last day in Atlanta. It all started on Friday when we left Orlando.

  • We were delayed 3 hours in Orlando
  • We had a very brief episode of some of the worse turbulence I've ever felt on the way to Atlanta.
  • We landed in Atlanta in a bad snow storm.
  • AirTran lost our bag on Friday's flight and didn't get it back to us until Sunday.
  • We left the airport after making a baggage claim 2 hours late.
  • We drove to the airport in a bad snow storm and got into the hotel at 9:30 instead of the scheduled arrival time of 3:30.

But our visit was very nice. On our last day here in Atlanta, Lily spent it with Audrey over at Mark and Davene's. I spent the day helping David and my mom get some things straightened away at the house. We ended the evening with Mark stopping over after his first day at work at Sterling Commerce and David's birthday celebration. We all had a big discussion about what mom might like to happen in the next year in terms of assisted living. Wow!
