Seems we've been pretty busy lately. Emily's been volunteering alot at school and I've been busy with a work project. Today, Lily had the day off and we all went to the Pacific Science Center. We played around with alot of exhibits, went to the butterfly house, and saw a 3-D IMAX movie about Sea Monsters. I might have liked the butterfly house the best. The movie was really cool 3-D technology but otherwise it was pretty mediocre. It was just nice to hang out with Lily and Emily on such a beautiful day.

Emily and I took Odette to Cascade Kennels this week for a refresher class on how to walk. I've been pretty lazy about getting her to heel and as a consequence she has been pulling pretty hard and has gotten dog agressive while on leash. It was good to work on corrections. She seems to have benefitted from it already.

My CERT class is almost over. I have one more session next Thursday and then a big drill on Sunday. It's been really a great class and has been a big help in helping me know what to do in the event of a major disaster. My only complaint about the class is that they don't cover group dynamics (my code for self awareness). There should be a session on how to give/take directions.

Lily has her last Soccer game tomorrow. I've signed up to coach basketball this year. The first practice for that starts in November.

Got this from a comment on Jay's blog - pretty funny. At least I got a kick out of it.

Today was soccer Saturday. Lily played soccer on the Girl Rulz team. They played the Purple Mustangs. It was a close match but no one kept score so we don't know who won. I was struck by how happy Lily was in the 50°, rainy weather. I looked out in the field with 2 minutes left to play and there she was dancing a little jig when a strong breeze blew across the field. She faced into the wind and raised her arms as if to fly. Then she turned a circle and performed a little two step. What joy.

We had a nice morning. I got up and went to the store to get the makings for a granola snack for the team. Each week a family is assigned to bring a snack for the team. We brough apple slices, some granola with sweet things, and a pumpkin cookie, as well as warm and cold cyder. I thought we were going to be pretty fancy but then I noticed the other team brought a pop-up canopy to keep them dry.

After the game we went over to Crossroads and had burritos for lunch. They had some type of cultural awareness festival going on, so we got to see a children's Mariachi band. It was alot of fun.

After lunch I took Odette to Marymoor and Lily had a friend over for a playdate. I also got around to sweeping up the drive way and front walk. What a nice fall day.

Went great! She came home and said she "loved it". She had a ton of trouble going to sleep last night, she was so excited. Here are some pictures. Her shirt says Girls Rule. She rode the bus home with all the other kids (even the older ones!). Our next door neighbor sat next to her. Tonight she has soccer. We're going to have hot dogs as a special treat tonight in honor of this momentous occasion.

Odette seems to be worse in terms of her incontinence while we've been here at the beach. We've upped her dosage of Proin to 75mg but that may not take affect for another day or so. We think it could be all the salt water she is swallowing as she chases the ball. Although it could also be all the exercise she's getting. Linda at the Happy Hounds Hotel said that some of the time extra exertion can add to the leakage. In any event, we're hoping things settle down when we get back home (tomorrow).
