Grrr... some of the times I hate my hosting company. They recycle the application every five minutes if no one has viewed the site for more than 5 minutes. I was in the middle of a blog entry and went to update it and lost everything. Grrr.
I ran for two days in a row for the first time in a long time. It went really well. I picked up the pace a bit but I'm not anticipating any soreness.
Although it's kind of wimpy, my favorite song today is the Indigo Girls song. They use some nice imagry in the song. The person in the song goes to Paris to forgot her lover and waits for "time to make history of us". There's another line I like in the song about looking out a hotel room window at snow covered mountains (the Alps) and seeing the "half-moon bleeding it's light like a lamb". It conjures up a very clear picture of the moonlight beaming through an opened window.

I ran down at Marymoor for the first time in a while. It felt pretty good. I was tired by the end but not exhausted. There seemed to be a lot of nice people on the trail today.
I like the Dinosaur Jr. song a lot. I didn't run across the group until the 90's and listen to them often. I like this song alot because it's about how different people hear different things - especially in relationships, where you'd think everything would be pretty clear.
We went to Winthrop last week and had a great time. We stayed at the Wolf Ridge Resort - a really nice property about 8 miles outside of town. The last time we were here there weren't too many second/vacation homes. This time it reminded me a little of Montana. Seems like second homes have gone in all over the place. Must be the sunny, dry climate.
Winthrop is this western touristy type of town on the other side of the Cascades. It sits in the Methow Valley. We've been there in both the summer and the winter but still don't know when the tourist season is. It has seemed slow at both times of the year. It's supposed to be a great place to cross country ski in the winter and bike in the summer. But it was so slow, the town only supported three restaurants, one of which was closed on Monday and Tuesday. You can find the pictures here.
I like my Sony HDR-1 video camera. It shoots straight to a hard drive and has 1080 capabilities. It records hi-def to a format called AVCHD which was supposed to be supported in Sony Vegas. I find out today that there is an upgrade to their 7.0 regular software but not the platinum version. To get support for AVCHD on the platinum version, you have to upgrade to version 8. I have version 7. I think this sucks.
As one of my summer reading projects this year, I thought I would read the Harry Potter books. I started one of them a couple of years ago but didn't really like it. I started reading it soon after completing The Lord of the Rings and it seemed a bit thin. But this year, as Lily has gotten older, I thought I'd read them aloud to her. Last week we picked up the first one - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and finished it today.
I think it must make a huge difference reading them aloud, rather than silently. I really thought it was a most enjoyable experience. Lily enjoyed it too - even if it was a bit scary in parts. We may not start on the next one right away but I'm looking forward to it when we do.
